FFL: Time to start over?

Written by FFL at 17:37 25/9-2011

Something I have thought of doing for a long time, but is it something I should do?

Raising a good team has always been difficult, but with increased competition it's harder now than ever and a challenge I want to face. With 1 team per player, until now i haven't managed to pursuade myself to shelve one of the longest running, highest ranked, richest teams in OCM - but is it time to do exactly that? Or in 1 month with only a trickle of cash funding my new team would I be wishing I hadn't started over?

To the OCM community, I ask, should I end FFL - and see how good I can make an FFL2?

I really think you shouldn't give up on FFL: too much history here. If you're looking for a new challenge, QSM's right: limit yourself to one country or something like that (like me with riders' names beginning with LI)! A 100% Wales team would be great!!!

1 2 Cycle at 11:28 2/11-2011
Nahh if he wants to start over then the only solution is to buy a random 15 riders from the TL and discard all his cash, and work from that point on. In my opinion that’s the only way to keep his team’s history and still to start over.

Still a good and fun team ideal to have a Great Britain orientated team off course ;-)

Quick step minded at 11:06 2/11-2011
Or try to have a team with riders from only certain countries. (like Scotland/England/Wales/Ireland)
That will be a challenge, cause it's difficult to have a top-team like that. :)

1 2 Cycle at 09:25 2/11-2011
PART 2: (seems there is a max lol)

(PS: you can discard your money by buying a rider for way more then he is worth, for example any rider I have lmao! Nahh just ask Nick ore so if he can remove it all but 100K)

Cheers and for everybody’s sake keep it spinning ;-)

1 2 Cycle at 09:23 2/11-2011
  Here is a idea…

You should find a way to discard your money and all your top riders, that way you will not have large amounts of cash and the riders to work with which all ‘new’ teams have. The only advantage you will have then is your equipment and your merchandise shop. But on the other hand you will not lose your teams history… I think this might be a good idea for you…

  (PS: you can disca

Quick step minded at 00:35 2/11-2011
So, you are building a new team now? (with all this money...)

johny2 at 18:42 20/10-2011
I was thinking about the same challenge. But it is hard to let some riders go. I have 2 original team members and trained a Scot to AV55.
It would be nice to do a head to head for 1 season :-)

ultrajectum at 13:43 15/10-2011
  and... ?

what is it gonna be boy... Yes or No?

  :)

cway at 23:11 7/10-2011
You need to keep playing, you are coming up to a really big challenge of rebuilding your team, most of them are getting too old and need to bring through the new crop of riders

Bywater CT at 10:51 3/10-2011
You will be bored after 1 month, or even faster :) Game at low levels is incredibly slow, especially if you don't go for mass trading

Team Crazy Downhillers at 07:31 26/9-2011
If Nick will accept it, it would indeed be great that FFL can continue. But i think i will stick on TCD, so it wont be me :)

Greenride at 04:02 26/9-2011
That might be a nice option indeed, donating it to someone else while you start over. FFL's continuation would be guaranteed and you'd get your challenge.

FFL at 00:26 26/9-2011
Restarting with all 5* equipment and probably 3mil in cash wouldn't be quite the same though would it - It's the seeing if I can fight my way back to the top starting with the same tools as new managers that I'm tempted by...

Maybe I could donate this team to somebody else?

Greenride at 00:17 26/9-2011
I agree with Washo and TCD: just stay and reconstructure your current team.

Team Washo at 20:06 25/9-2011
I agree with TCD, if you want to start over, sell your aging squad, and with all your cash build up a team based around a certain theme as other managers have done.

Team Crazy Downhillers at 17:54 25/9-2011
I think you should keep playing on FFL. Your team has a great history, please make it continue :)
